Picture Day is scheduled for Sept. 20.

Grandparents Breakfast

The NEB Elementary Annual Grandparents Breakfast is Tuesday, Sept. 25 in the Elementary Cafeteria and Gym. Doors open at 8:10 am, and eating times are determined by grade level:

  • 8:20 am – Kindergarten
  • 8:30 am – 1st Grade
  • 8:40 am – 2nd Grade
  • 8:50 am – 3rd Grade
  • 9:00 am – 4th Grade
  • 9:10 am – 5th Grade
  • 9:20 am – 6th Grade

Cost is $3 per adult, payable at event. (Student payments will be processed by the cafeteria.)

Breakfast menu: French toast sticks with maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, fruit medley, coffee, milk and assorted juice.

Essay Contest for Students in Grades 4-12

The Bradford County Republican Committee is sponsoring its 7th Annual Essay Contest, open to all Bradford County students in grades 4-12. This year’s topic is “Interview someone over the age of 65 and have them tell of a significant change (good or bad) since they were your age.”

The essays will be grouped into three divisions:

  • Grades 4-6 (100 words or less)
  • Grades 7-9 (300 words or less)
  • Grades 10-12 (500 words or less)

First place winners in each division will be awarded a plaque and a $75 cash prize. Second place winners in each division will receive a certificate and $50 cash prize.

All essays must include a title page with the student’s name, address, telephone number, grade, name of school and the name of student’s teacher.

Every Kid in a Park

The National Park Service created an initiative, Every Kid in a Park, to encourage fourth grade students and their families to experience the places that are home to America’s natural treasures, rich history and vibrant culture. Fourth graders can receive an annual free pass (for their families) by simply visiting the website and answering a few questions. Learn more at https://www.everykidinapark.gov
