DUAL / CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT

Northeast Bradford School District partners with Commonwealth University and Lackawanna College to offer college courses to high students in grades 11 & 12. These courses are designed for highly-motivated, academically successful students who plan to attend college after graduation in both 2-year and 4-year programs. NEB partners with Lackawanna College for dual enrollment courses. Through the dual enrollment program, students have the opportunity to earn college credits while they also earn high school credits for the same coursework. These courses are offered at GREATLY discounted rates (75% - 90% off the typical price)! These courses are intended to meet general education requirements at the college level. These are requirements all students must meet regardless of their chosen majors. Please see below for more information on Lackawanna Dual enrollment courses. NEB partners with Commonwealth University for Concurrent courses. These are college courses taken outside of NEB curriculum. Please see below for further information on Commonwealth University Early College Program.

COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY

The Early College Program through Commonwealth University is open to 11th & 12th graders. Students may apply using the below link.

These are college level classes and earn college credit through the Commonwealth University. Once a student completes a course through the Early College Program, her/she will have an official college transcript.

The Early College Program runs independently from Northeast Bradford School District. NEB students may enroll in the program but the courses do not appear on an NEB transcript, are not counted in GPA and do not count towards graduation.

The Early College Program fall course registration begins in the summer and in November for spring. Current students and applicants have been sent (or will be) the registration information along with the link to set up a meeting time to discuss course options. New students can apply on our website below.

Here is the CU Early College Website: https://www.commonwealthu.edu/admissions/early-college

As for course search, students can search our online Banner course search located in the link below. They should use the drop down for Spring 2025. Students are welcome to take an online course as long as there is a seat available, and they meet any prerequisites for the course. As noted, before, once they apply or are currently enrolled, they will or have received the link to set up a meeting time.

LACKAWANNA COLLEGE

Students will decide during the school year if any of the Northeast Bradford courses they are taking are ones for which they would ALSO like to earn Lackawanna College credit. Lackawanna courses are $300 - $400 dollars. Textbooks are included. Students will register during the school year approximately mid-way through their coursework.
