Title I, Part A - Improving Basic Programs

Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Federal funds are currently allocated through four statutory formulas that are based primarily on census poverty estimates and the cost of education in each state In addition, a portion of the Title I grant supports educational services for nonpublic students who reside in our district's geographic area.

Northeast Bradford School District's Title I funds are used to finance supplemental educational services, in reading/language arts and math. Staff work with students in the regular classroom to ensure that they meet state academic standards. All instruction is aligned to the Northeast Bradford School District curriculum and local and state PA standards. Title I funding may also assist the district in meeting the needs of its professional and paraprofessional staff members.
